Well that stinks

Something I didn't really consider when trying to get pregnant, when going gluten-free, when watching our little Bug on the ultrasound screen, was how am I going to experience and handle cravings. Cravings for a calzone pizza, soft burrito (in a flour tortilla), breadsticks, cheez-its, etc. All the things that don't have gluten-free substitutes or have them but they are a poor excuse for food!

So what do I do? Suffer. Ever been around a pregnant lady when she's having cravings? I'm not bad, sometimes I cry (only partially because of the food *wink*) but most of the time I just keep it inside and try to ignore it until it goes away after a couple of days.

It stinks, but it's worth it. It's worth it to give our baby the best chance at a healthy start as I can. It's worth it to skip risking losing this baby for a lose of just a little more sanity (on my part) and it's worth it to make my husband feel bad for me so he'll get me any (gluten-free) thing I want! I'm just kidding about that last part, promise. ;-)

Update on Bug

We are now 12 weeks along! Almost out of the first trimester, thankfully! I have been so sick, all day long, that I can't wait for it to go away. Not that I get physically ill but it's still pretty miserable.

The other night we were listening to the heartbeat on our doppler and Bug kicked the doppler and swam away! It was hilarious to hear and so neat to think of our little one moving around so much in there. I can't wait to feel it and can't wait to see Bug again on ultrasound.

Due Date is officially August 27, 2011. It's kinda funny, we found out we were pregnant on my nephew's birthday and we are due on my niece's birthday!

Our next appointment is Febuary 23, we'll be 14.5 weeks. Hopefully we get to schedule our gender ultrasound then!

As far as what we think we're having, I honestly don't know! Heartbeat is high which according to the wives tale points to girl. In my dreams I often times see a little boy, not a baby, but a little boy. When I see a baby in my dreams it's a girl but I don't know! I'd be happy with either gender, as long as we have a healthy Bug in the end!
